How is the co-op? I'm looking for a basebuilder to play with my gf and this game seems to tick all the boxes. My only concern is the performance issues that I've been hearing about, especially when you have more than 20 hearthlings. It seems like this problem will be compounded in multiplayer. Knowing little about the game, is this problem.

So open question asked on the KS in regards to a coop mode in which two players share building a city. I though about this and think I could see a problem. While I like the idea of building a city with a friend unless we can divide the villagers up it could cause AI issues. Say my friend and I divide up some tasks, I take farming and he takes building a house.
