4 septembre 2023 • Randonnée Good trail for a Saskatchewan hike. Gets better the farther out you go. Would recommend hiking past the end sign and really seeing the dunes, maybe having a picnic there if it's not too windy. The easiest to reach from Moose Jaw are the Douglas Sand Dunes in Douglas Provincial Park, and the Great Sandhills, south of the village of Sceptre in southwestern Saskatchewan. Douglas Provincial Park is on the shores of Lake Diefenbaker and includes a relatively easy hiking trail to the dunes.

The dunes are sizeable but don't have great height and have some vegetation. The sand was soft and dry and walking became like walking on a beach. Linda loves to run down sand dunes. They were a lot of fun to wander through. Our "top of the dune" selfie. The usual selfie included Colin this time.
